GLUCOAMYLASE ENZYME
BioConvert – ACGA (Glucoamylase Enzyme for Saccharification)
DESCRIPTION
BioConvert – ACGAis a fungal Glucoamylase enzyme derived from a selected strain of Aspergillus niger. The enzyme is a 1, 4- alpha-D-glucan glucohydrolase (E.C. 3.2.1.3) and is commonly referred to as Glucoamylase or Amyloglucosidase. It is an exoamylase that catalyzes the release of successive glucose units from non-reducing ends of dextrin and oligosaccharides chain by hydrolyzing both linear (1, 4-+-D) and branched (1, 6-+-D) glucosidic linkages. BioConvert – ACGA is used to saccharify liquefied starch from various sources such as corn, wheat, milo, sorghum, tapioca, barley, rice & potatoes. The resultant products are glucose rich syrups.

PROCESS PARAMETERS:
The below laboratory data provides plant operating guidelines for time, temperature & pH. Each parameter may be varied within a plant to achieve the target level at minimum operating cost.
Temperature and pH profile of BioConvert – ACGA: The relative Glucoamylase activity of BioConvert – ACGA as a function of pH for 1 hour at 60° C in 4% w/v soluble starch shows optimum pH range of 4.0 to 4.4 and the operating range of 3.5 to 5.5. The relative Gluco Amylase activity of BioConvert – ACGA incubated for 1 hour at pH 4.4 in 4% w/v soluble starch shows optimum temperature range of 58° to 65° C.
DOSAGE:
In a typical sacharification at 60° C, pH 4.3 and with a holding time from 24 to 72 hours, the enzyme dosage is 0.35 to 1 Kg of BioConvert – ACGA enzyme per metric ton of starch dry substance.
